Easy Guacamole

This recipe is simple, adaptable and healthy.

Perfect for breakfast or a snack, it only takes a few minutes and needs few ingredients. This recipe serves one, but if you're having guests, you can make as much as you need for an appetizer or sharing dip.

Ingredients for one serving:
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1 tsp lime juice
  • 1 tsp Gia Garlic Puree (you can use a crushed, raw garlic clove, but I find that garlic puree blends more easily)
  • One teaspoon of dried chives
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Chilli powder, to taste
  • Pinch of smoked paprika

Slice the avocado in half, and remove the stone carefully with a sharp knife. Discard the stone. Scoop out the avocado's flesh using a tablespoon and place in a small bowl.

Add your garlic, lime juice, dried chives, pepper and chilli powder. Add as much or as little chilli powder as you like depending on your tastes. Although my tolerance for spice has increased dramatically over the past couple of years, I still keep it mild when making guacamole!

Mash everything together with a fork and garnish with smoked paprika.

Serve with crusty bread, nachos, or whatever you fancy. I serve mine with toasted strips or tortilla. You can make these by slicing a plain tortilla wraps into wedges or strips and grilling them under a medium heat.

It's as simple as that! You can also add this guacamole mix as a topping for tacos and chilli.
